Explore Nusantara: Learn Through Books and Cultures

On Wednesday, 23rd October, Amore Prime School P5 students recently visited the National Library of Indonesia, which encompasses the vast archipelago of Indonesia and its neighboring regions and is a treasure trove of cultures, languages, and traditions. This field trip allowed students to learn about various Indonesian cultures. They also had the opportunity to participate in the city tour and experience the vibrant city of Jakarta.

Our day began with a warm welcome at the National Library, a magnificent building that houses millions of books, digital resources, and historical documents. Students will have the chance to explore various sections of the library, there is something for everyone!

The first activity was a presentation from the Library moderator. The presentation helped students to understand more about what can you do in the National Library, how to become a member, and the levels that the National Library has. Students will have the chance to relax in the corner, where they can immerse themselves in their favorite stories or discover answers for their worksheets.

For the second activity, the students went to the library’s cultural history. They learned about the history of other Nusantara regions their legacies and how to navigate the vast collection of resources available.

After a morning filled with learning, they enjoyed their lunch. At this time students share their thoughts about the library and chat about what they enjoyed the most.

Once we had recharged, our next activity was a city tour provided by the National Library. What an exciting city tour! Students boarded a comfortable bus as we set out to explore some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and fill up our worksheets. Throughout the tour, the National Library’s knowledgeable tour guide shared interesting facts and anecdotes about the places we visited, making the experience even more engaging for the students.

As the day wraps up, students return to school with new knowledge and unforgettable experiences. This field trip is not just an educational journey; it’s about fostering a love for reading, exploring our city, and creating lasting memories with friends.
