Economic Activity – P5 Project

On October 6, 2023. The Primary 5 students (P5A, P5B, P5C) of Amore Prime School held supporting program activities relating to economic activities in the school environment by playing roles, this is the implementation of “5P: (Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila) which aims to observe and resolve problems around us through five main aspects, namely: self-potential, self-empowerment, self-improvement, self-understanding, and social role.

We all carry out economic activities in our daily lives, whether as producers, distributors, or consumers. These activities are carried out by people to fulfill their daily needs like farming, gardening, opening a stall or shop, or buying an item.

In general, economic activities are divided into 3, namely Production, Distribution, and Consumption. Production, aims to make goods or add value to an item, such as table craftsmen and farmers. Distribution, is an activity carried out by someone to sell or distribute goods until they reach the hands of consumers such as stalls or markets. Consumption, is an activity carried out by someone to use or spend goods.

From the economic activities mentioned above, these activities will interact directly with nature and with other people so a person is required to have the ability to manage nature and to build relationships with other people.

To provide real understanding and experience to the students regarding economic activities, the students were invited to play roles to directly  observe and experience by becoming chefs, cashiers, sellers, sales marketing, receptionists, and waiters.

They all served according to their respective roles. The chefs fried potatoes, sausages, and nuggets. The seller sold items such as chocolates, candies, wafers and many more.

For the consumers, the students from other classes came to the food stalls and bought goods with the prices that have been determined.

Apart from that, the P5 students also had the opportunity to be consumers. They bought the goods from other stalls.

This role-playing activity made the students understood  economic activities more easily. They were also very enthusiastic in carrying out their respective roles.

The students are now looking forward to the next Supporting Program Activities.

Scout Day 2023

Gerakan Pramuka Indonesia, also known as the Indonesian Scout Movement, is a non-formal educational organization that promotes scouting education in Indonesia. It was established in 1961 by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX. By 2011, the Indonesian Scout Movement had grown to become the world’s largest scout association, boasting around 17 million members.

The term “Pramuka” originates from “Praja Muda Karana,” which translates to a young soul with a penchant for work. This movement offers an educational process beyond formal schooling. It’s akin to family education, packaged as an engaging, enjoyable, healthy, organized, and hands-on outdoor activity.

Every year on August 14, Indonesia celebrates Indonesian Scout Day. In 2023, Amore Prime School actively participated in commemorating the 62nd Scout Day. The event featured the theme “Professional and Proportional Human Resources” and included the induction of grade 3 students into the ranks of cub scouts and brownie scouts.

The celebration assigned grade 6 students as flag-raising troops, while participants spanned from grade 3 to grade 6. Additionally, other officers hailed from grades 4 and 5.

Upon fulfilling the responsibilities set by the Board of Trustees, the spotlight shifted to the inauguration of cub scouts and brownie scouts. This event saw the participation of 74 students from grade 3. The ceremony involved embedding handkerchiefs, donning hats and pins, and navigating ropes adorned with flags symbolizing their involvement in Indonesian and global scouting organizations.

After the inauguration concluded, one of the standby members recited the Dwisatya (Cub’s Promise) and Dwidharma (Cub’s Commitment), followed by all the new cub and brownie members. This was their pledge and dedication upon joining the ranks of scouts.

With the ceremony and inauguration completed, all Scout members extended their congratulations to the new cub and brownie members. The well-wishes began with the coaches (teachers) and resonated among members from classes 4 to 6. The Scouts exhibited great enthusiasm throughout the event, engaging in spirited renditions of scout songs.

The ultimate aim of these activities is to foster character, morality, and noble virtues among Indonesia’s youth. It’s important to note that scouting in Indonesia has been tailored to align with the interests and development of the nation’s society.

The first activity was a presentation where students shared why they were proud to be Indonesian. The presentation helped students to understand what it meant to be proud of one’s roots and instilled a sense of national pride in them.

The second activity was a presentation about traditional food. The presentation was an excellent way to educate the students about the culinary culture of their country and appreciate the variety of flavors and spices that make Indonesian food so unique.

The singing and dancing of traditional songs were also a great way to showcase the country’s rich musical heritage. It was wonderful to see the children immerse themselves in the culture and express themselves so creatively.

The fashion show was another highlight of the event, where students dressed up in traditional attire and walked with confidence and grace. The audience was treated to a feast of colors and patterns that represented the different regions of Indonesia.

The storytelling activity about legendary stories from Indonesia was a great way to engage the children’s imagination and introduce them to the rich history and mythology of their country. The stories helped them understand the values and beliefs that are intrinsic to Indonesian culture.

Project and activities like this are important in order to preserve our cultural heritage and help students understand and appreciate the diversity of our country. It was heartwarming to see the enthusiasm and participation of the students.

National Teachers Day

Happy Teachers’ Day!

Teachers play one of the most important roles in our lives. They teach us not just in formal education, but they also teach us about compassion and perseverance through their lessons. Sometimes they would be mad at us, but that is when they showed that they cared for us. We might say that teachers are like our second parents in school.

Teachers day is celebrated as a form of respect and appreciation for dear teachers in all over Indonesia. On that day, Amorians celebrated the National Teacher’s Day after the ceremony. We gave cakes, words, and gifts to show our love. However, the love that we gave is just a little compared to theirs. So how do you want to truly show your love to them? The best appreciations we can give is by taking their lessons seriously!
